After the Barrage went in, the level of the river now remains constant and makes for a virtual Stillwater giving ideal conditions for Bream, Roach and Perch. There is a good head of Pike around the area now with fish well into double figures being caught regularly. It is the Bream though that have attracted anglers to the waters of Yarm AA, a stocking policy some years ago set in motion the Bream revolution we are witnessing today with match catches now reaching into 40lb+.
